Meet The Geniuses Behind Google’s Crazy Computerized Glasses

Google Is Racing As Fast As It Can To Get Those Glasses Out

IT’S REAL: Check Out What It’s Like Using Google’s Crazy Computerized Glasses
Google’s glasses are very cool in a sci-fi, dream-big sort of a way.
In a practical, we must use them every day kind of a way, they are less cool. It’s hard to imagine many practical everyday uses for the Google glasses.
Plus, if you wear them and hang out with people you’re going to be totally obnoxious. It’s hard enough talking to people with their faces buried in smartphones. Imagine talking to someone with a computer over their eye.
Putting that aside, one of our commenters came up with a practical application:
For the record. I am working in environment where those kinds of glasses would extremely useful. If our field technicians have real-time access to maps of underground lines, pipes, electrical cables and etc this will prevent a lot of accidents, it will save lifes [sic] and it will save millions of dollars per year.
The only downside to this: It’s enterprise users, not consumers. Google is horrendous at serving the enterprise.
The other downside to this: It has to actually work. We’ll be skeptical of this project until we see it work as advertised.
