Tumblr only made $13 million in ad revenue in 2012. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t a space that is ripe for brands. First off, Tumblr has 300 million unique monthly visitors, which makes it one of the largest sites on the web. Secondly, Tumblr is unique in that it focuses more on design than text-based content. Brands need to know how to conform to that environment. As Tumblr’s founder, David Karp once said, Tumblr gives agencies “space and a canvas to create ads that win awards.” Tumblr recently rolled out sponsored posts, the first time its users are seeing brand content directly in their feeds. Read
