While it will be difficult for Android phones to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One for the next few months, that doesn’t mean phone makers won’t give it a shot. Now Sprint is trying with the Vital, an Android phone with killer specs like a 5-inch 720p display and 13-megapixel back camera that costs $100 with a 2-year-contract.

The good spec list doesn’t stop with a good screen and back camera. This phone runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and has a 1.5-GHz dual core processor, 4G LTE connectivity, a 1-megapixel front camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a 2,500 mAh battery.

The Sprint Vital is manufactured by Chinese phone-maker ZTE, but will carry the Sprint branding and act as the company’s singular flagship Android phone. That said, it does already sell the Galaxy S4 and HTC One, so it already has Android fire power to attract customers. However, those phones start at $200 with a 2-year contract while the Vital costs $100 with a 2-year contract.

It’s unlikely the Vital will pull away people who want the very best in Android, but its lower price tag could be attractive to folks on a budget.

The Sprint Vital launches on Sprint on June 14.
