Yahoo VP of product development Bobby Figueroa is leaving the company. A source describes him as the guy who ran Yahoo’s ad platforms.
In what may be a coincidence, he’s following CEO Carol Bartz out the door.
Figueroa was a peer to Dev Patel, who left Yahoo a few weeks ago.
He was recruited into the company by product boss Blake Irving and Bill O’Shaunessy.
Before Yahoo, Figueroa helped manage the DoubleClick integration for Google. He worked at Microsoft with Blake Irving.
Yahoo’s advertising technology is currently under fire. A source at the company tells us it knows it has work to do with ad targeting. The company is currently looking at possible acquisitions to solve the problem.
