Mobile social network Path now has more than 2 million users, just two months after it launched a complete redesign.

We first reported last month that Path had reached 2 million downloads and is raising a big round of funding to go with its newly redesigned app. Now the company has confirmed the app’s quick growth to AllThingsD’s Liz Gannes.

Path was awarded a Crunchie award for the best designed app of 2011 — because it’s basically a lightweight timeline that exists only on your smartphone. You’re only intended to use Path to keep in touch with your close friends because the app has a 150-friend limit.

But the engagement level with those 150 some-odd friends is really high, according to CEO Dave Morin. Here are some stats he shared with AllThingsD:

On the engagement front, he said 70 percent of people who use Path in a week return the next week.

Path users have created over 50 million items of content and half a billion pieces of feedback. The latter is a somewhat inflated stat, because “feedback” is created every time a user looks at content on Path.

But for reference, there are 15 million pieces of feedback created on Path per day now, versus 10 million total in the first year, Morin said.
